Online Registration using MyLINC
Human Resource Development (HRD) and ITS have established a partnership for our online course registration. ITS continues to provide training, documentation, and communications for M-Pathways, eMploy, and the U-M Data Warehouse in MyLINC. We are very excited about this partnership, as each employee has access to their training history for both ITS and HRD courses in one location.
You can browse for HRD courses at both the HRD Website and My LINC. Non-University employees or those needing to register others can register for courses using a paper-based form (see instructions below).
To access My LINC:
- Go to Wolverine Access (http://wolverineaccess.umich.edu).
- Click the University Business link.
- Click the My LINC (HRD and MAIS Learning & Information Center) link.

Confirmation
Within a week after we receive your registration, we’ll send you a confirmation letter. If you haven’t received one in this timeframe, please call us at (734) 764-7410.
Eligibility
HRD programs are offered for the benefit of staff and faculty members currently employed by the University of Michigan. University of Michigan retirees are welcome to attend HRD courses at the same price as current staff and faculty; based on available space, University of Michigan alumni and members of the public are welcome to attend as well.
HRD Fees
In the unlikely event that course fees change during the 2012-13 year, HRD will notify course participants as soon as possible.
Walk-in Registration
We make every effort to accommodate walk-in registrations if space is available in the course. In the event the course is filled, we will put your name on the course waitlist for the next available session.
Courses By Demand
Registering for the “CBD” list does not require or guarantee enrollment in a course session. “CBD” list members will be notified when a new session is created and will be given an opportunity to register. In the event an additional session of a course is not added to the 2012-13 schedule, “CBD” list members will be notified of available 2013-14 dates in summer 2013.
Parking
A blue lot is located across the street from HRD and behind the Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE). Blue, Yellow and Orange lots are located behind the Michigan Stadium and Crisler Arena. Additional Yellow and Orange lots are located on the corner of Keech and Main streets. Another Orange lot can be found next to East Stadium Street, just south of the Campus Safety building. There is metered parking across from HRD and on Kipke Drive in front of the Blue and Yellow lots. HRD does not provide free parking, parking vouchers or change for the meters.
Course Environment
Most HRD courses are held at HRD in the Administrative Services Building. Coffee and tea are usually provided. Persons with disabilities who need special accommodations to attend a program should call HRD at (734) 764-7410. The temperature of the training rooms is electronically controlled, so we suggest that you bring along a sweater or light jacket just in case the room temperature is too cool for your comfort.
Accommodations for Persons with Disabilities
Persons with disabilities who need accommodations to attend a program should call (734) 764-7410.
How Others Can Reach You at HRD
People who may need to contact you during a course may call (734) 764-7410. Please have them tell our receptionist your name and the title of the course you are attending. Messages are delivered during breaks.
Photography
Occasionally, we invite a photographer into some of our courses to take photos of participants and presenters for our catalog and other promotional materials. Seating arrangements can be made at the start of each course for those who do not want their photo taken while in session.
Course Observations
At HRD, we believe in continuous improvement; therefore, we encourage you to provide candid feedback on ways to improve our courses and services via our pre-, in-session and post-evaluation methods. Similarly, assessment and research activities (i.e., note taking, tape recording, or video recording) are performed periodically on HRD traditional and online courses in order to assess the effectiveness of the course design, instructor style, and the type of interactivity taking place during small and large group activities. You will be notified a few days prior to the start date of the course if an observation will take place. Please note, confidentiality is of the utmost importance during our observational research; therefore, individual names will not be associated with comments or in-session activities. Observational research activities are designed to enrich your learning experience while helping us improve future experiences for HRD course participants.
